Bono: The Beliefnet Interview
While the Jubilee 2000 Coalition accomplished a great deal, it failed to achieve its ultimate goal of complete debt forgiveness. The coalition has disbanded, but the work goes on. What is the current initiative, and what is your involvement in it?
This year might turn out to be even more of a millennium year for us than last year. There's a chance that if we focus on the HIV/AIDS crisis, particularly in Africa--that's the shock to the system that might allow for deeper debt relief.

SG: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO ACHIEVE THROUGH YOUR MUSIC?

Eckhart Tolle, Author of The Power of Now and Stillness Speaks Interview at Omega Institute / Fall 2003 Interview By: Josh Max on Ecomall.com
JM: I'd like to talk about your transformation at age 29, where you say your personality was erased. Many people spend their lives trying to get something like that to happen, and here it happened to you at a young age. Can you talk a little bit about that?
ET: I was unhappy, depressed and anxious. I was not trying to become enlightened or anything like that. I was looking for some kind of answer to the dilemma of life, but I had been looking to the intellect for the answer; philosophy, religion and intellectual inspiration . . .

Ripples on the Surface of Being An interview with Eckhart Tolle by Andrew Cohen
ANDREW COHEN:
Eckhart, what is your life like? I've heard that you're a bit of a recluse and that you spend a lot of time in solitude. Is that true?
ECKHART TOLLE:
That was true in the past, before my book The Power of Now came out. For many years I was a recluse . . ..
Mantak Chia — A Modern Taoist Master by Christopher Larthe originally published in issue 42 - July 1999
You taught first in your home city of Bangkok and then in the Chinese community of New York.[1] Your main work was healing, but it was the sexual practices that caught the attention of your Western students. These secret arts were originally taught to enable an Emperor to enjoy his harem of wives and concubines without depleting his energies. You were brought up a Christian. Did you not feel a conflict with the Christian ideas of sin?
No conflict, for sexual practices are healing practices, healing the self, healing relationships. It is only sin if you see it as sin. Sex is natural, not sinful. The human being has a powerful sex drive – and you cannot keep ping-pong balls under water. Sometime, somewhere, they pop back up, maybe as disease, maybe as emotional problems, causing energy blockages, leading to illness
